About Me
I am completely addicted to the hobby. I try to constantly better my skills and challenge myself with new waters, new techniques and new species. 2009 has been my biggest learning curve and my most successful year. In Manitoba, I've caught 42 Master Angler fish in 2009 with the fly rod. This includes such species as Channel Catfish, Black Crappie, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, White Bass, etc. I've caught several personal bests this year that I couldn't attain with hardware tackle in the past. Walleye is a prime example. I couldn't break the magic 25 inch mark until this year. I managed a 28 inch with the fly in a float tube. My next targets are a 20 inch Brook Trout, Tiger Trout, and Brown Trout. As well as a Lake Trout, Arctic Char, and Splake on the fly.

About Me
I am the Fish Culture Manager for the Province of Manitoba. I moved back form BC last year after being out of Manitoba for 28 years. It was the browns that brought me back plus the Twin tigers.
Favourite lakes, Patterson/Tokaryk, Twin and Perch.
We will be starting to stock triploid rainbows in 2010/11 in select trophy lakes. Triploid trout are sterile and do not produce eggs so they focus all their resources on simply growing bigger. Since they also live a few years longer than our normal diploid trout they should be getting to quite a size compared to what everyone experiences so far.

About Me
I have been fly fishing for 45 years and am especially fond of warm water species. My favorite fish are pike and bluegill although I also spend many hours in pursuit of bass, crappies and carp. I tie my own flies and enjoy spinning and stacking deer hair for pike and bass patterns. I am an aquatic ecologist and have spent many years studying wetlands, lakes and reservoirs with emphasis on water chemistry and aquatic invertebrates. I am a member of the Missouri Valley Fly Fishers Club and the Dakota Fly Fishers and currently serve as President of the MVFF Club.
