I am quite new to fly fishing and don't have a lot of experience yet. I randomly purchased a fly rod last spring not really knowing what I was getting into. I went to the June outing at Fish Creek last summer and had the opportunity to get on the water in a float tube where I caught my first crappie, bass, and rainbow on a fly rod. I've come to realize that you can catch any species of fish on a fly rod with the right equipment. I haven't been on the water much, but I spent this winter tying my own flies so I didn't have to buy them, and found that very fun as well. I'm very excited to get out on the water to find out if the flies I tied will work, and looking forward to meeting and learning from some of you!!
