I have caught hundreds of trout fly fishing in streams and rivers. Mostly brook trout and landlocked salmon, some rainbows. Where I live there are only three kinds of fish. Brook trout, bait and junk. I will admit the junk fish can be fun to catch and good to eat.

Thanks for the question Warren yes I have caught seven different kinds of trout on fly in mountain streams from Alaska to Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Montanna, Idaho and all over California. I think that pound for pound that they all fight much better in streams than in lakes and though I prefer drift fishing there is nothing more nature awakening than fishing a beaver dam high up in the Rockies.
